 On Thursday, 03-17-22, I went out and spent some time with one of the Barred Owls.

On Wednesday, 03-16-22, I went out to check on Hoot and Give a Hoot. Give a Hoot offered several different poses while I was out with him, so I took advantage of them.

Hoot was peeking at me when I went and checked on her. on the nest.

On Saturday, 03-05-22, I went out to check in with Hoot and Give a Hoot. Hoot was on the nest facing away from me and Give a Hoot was pretending to not see me.

I’ve been staying away from the immediate area, but today I walked in closer. It looked like the other photographer, who I no longer have any respect for because of the way he located the nest, had been out recently… it looked like it might have been earlier today. I checked his FB page and yep, probably earlier today.

 

Sitting, watching and listening… 02-24-22

 Sitting, watching and listening… saw a great Horned Owl earlier in the day. The light snow continued while I was out and with the northerly wind I didn’t hear anymore owl calls while in the woods. Other than the sound of the wind the snow dampen all the other sounds. When I got home I listened to the audio I could hear some squawks and a male and female Great Horned Owl calling back and forth.
