Great Horned Owlets…

 

Here are my images from Thursday, 04-22-21. It was a very quiet day watching the owlets. Since it was a warm afternoon there was a lot more activity in the area and the owlets maintained a low profile on the nest. 

 

I was set up at 1715 hours and Hoot, the female, wasn’t at the nest. I had seen here a few hours earlier.

Once the owlets began to fully wake up around sunset they both spent time looking directly above them. I believe they were looking for mom who will perch above them when she’s at the nest. I left the nest site at 2020 hrs and I didn’t see or hear Hoot.
